Create ‘La La Land’ - Smart Ground Piano
Led by
Yang Hong , former General Manager of the Mobby business unit of the Tomorrow Advancing Life Group
**Participants need to bring their own laptop
With tools such as Infrared Sensors, Ardunio Control Boards and Audio Devices, we'll create a large ground piano, something that resembles the Chinese chime bells. We'll finally play a simple piece of music when dancing.
During the creation, we can experience a clear Engineering Process: defining problems, design solutions, validating solutions.
Paper electronics
Led by Jie Qi, MIT Media Lab
Jie Qi,
Paper electronics means to blend art and craft with electronics and programming by using craft materials like conductive tapes and paints to build circuits. In this workshop, come learn how to create interactive light-up cards and posters with Chibitronics circuit stickers. Discover the magical possibilities of using technology to make art come to life, as well as using art to make technology beautiful and personally meaningful. No experience with craft or electronics necessary!
POV Wearable
Led by Xiaoyan Shen, MIT
When we see images in quick succession, it creates an optical illusion in our brain allowing us to detect motion. This effect is known Persistence of Vision (POV). In this project, you will develop a LED based POV display wearable using Lilypad Arduino. You will learn basic information and knowledge about electronic wiring, e-textile, and Arduino programming. When you finished your wearable and shake your hands at a quick speed, letters pre-programmed will be perceived.
